About Step One Charity

Step One Charity is a Devon based mental health charity with it's head office in Exeter.
We support people to manage their mental health, achieve employment goals and live more independently. We encourage people to take a first step to being in control of their future and fulfilling their potential.

Our services include mental health crisis care and recovery, and one-to-one mentoring in employment and independent living skills. We work with a diverse range of people who may have a mental health issue and/or a hidden disability, such as an autism spectrum condition.

Our staff work in the community and at our dedicated facilities, including an independent hospital and supported living residences. Our approach is considering a person’s wider wellbeing, and we consider any social context that could be affecting their mental health, their ability to work, or to be part of their community.

Step One also offers support and training for both individuals and businesses. Our BeWell@StepOne offers support through online courses and workshops, and weekly peer support groups for people experiencing issues with their mental health and wellbeing.

Our BeWell for Business project offers Mental Health First Aid training for businesses, both for employees and employers.
