About Balloons (Devon)

Balloons is small, local child bereavement charity supporting children, young people and their families across Exeter, East and Mid Devon with practical, social and emotional support following the death or before the imminent death of someone significant in their lives.

Between 2022-2023, donations, grants, regular gifts and fundraising from our wonderful supporters helped us to:

- Provide programmes of 1:1 sessions with a trained Grief Support Worker for 113 children.

- Run activity days where 62 children and young people (with their parents/carers) met up with other bereaved children and their families and had some fun.

- Respond to 650 enquiries from bereaved families and schools with advice and support.

- Send out 246 care packages to children and young people and their families.

- Hold training sessions for 158 professionals working with children in schools, colleges, and Exeter University.

- Support 35 Grief Support Workers with supervision and ongoing training.

- Train 16 new Grief Support Workers.
